Travel

You can arrange to drive a car, but local transportation to and from the studio will be offered during your stay. There is a pick-up fee from bus/train stations and airports. If you fly to JFK, La Guardia (LGA) or Newark (EWR) airports, the Directions Page will give you all the information needed to make travel arrangements. If you fly to Scranton (AVP) or Newburgh (SWF) Airports, a direct pick-up can be arranged through the Center for a fee as noted in student packets, which will be emailed to you upon enrollment confirmation.

Class Size and
Registration

Classes are limited in size in order to give each training artist maximum individual attention, so it is important to register as early as possible. After filling out the application form and having a phone interview with faculty, students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the Registration Process?

1. Submit an Online General Application. If eligible for a partial scholarship, a scholarship application will be sent to you upon receipt of your general application.

2. Phone interview with Margolis Method Center faculty will be arranged.

3. Upon acceptance, a link will be sent enabling you to pay your deposit.

4. On receipt of deposit, we will confirm your registration and a contract and in-depth artist packet will be e-mailed to you.

5. Faculty will be in touch to assist with questions and travel arrangements.

What is the Payment
Schedule?

A non-refundable deposit of $350 must be received to confirm registration. Tuition balance must be paid in full at least two weeks before classes start. An online invoice will be sent to you. Preferred payment method is through paypal, with either a paypal account or major credit card. Payment by check can also be arranged.

Public Workshops On the Road

What Time Should I Arrive?

Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before a class/workshop begins. The doors will always be open 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. This offers training artists an opportunity to take care of belongings, use the restroom, warm up, and get centered.

What is Appropriate Attire for Class?

Work clothes for class should be clean, comfortable and not too baggy. Please do not wear clothes with large logos or distracting patterns. Muted, solid colors are preferred. We work barefoot.

Can I Bring a Notebook?

We strongly encourage artists to take notes on exercises and concepts they find particularly inspiring and useful for them.  It’s important, though, not to lose too much time or focus in the middle of a class, so have notebook and pen ready off to the side and jot a simple note to expand upon later.  Processing and developing your notes (especially with another colleague) is a great way to refresh your mind and deepen your understanding of Margolis Method.

Workbooks

Margolis Method Workbooks are available for purchase.  These workbooks are extensive and detail far more information than can be covered in a short workshop.  The cost of workbooks can be applied to a year’s membership to our Online Learning site. Workbooks cost $60, and may be purchased by sending us an email and can either be mailed or picked up at an upcoming workshop with 7 days notice.
