Celebrating from both sides of the atlantic
Margolis Method Center Int’l and Margolis Method BCN
present the first:
International Margolis Method Conference
January 13-14, 2018 – Barcelona
Since 1982, Margolis Method has developed into a comprehensive and highly integrated methodology for actor training and theatre creation that merges the skill sets of the actor, director and playwright. The pedagogy synthesizes muscular and vocal expression and is based on concrete theatrical exercises that put the conceptual into the realm of the practicable.
Founded by Kari Margolis, the Method has grown into a well respected approach to training with a theatre philosophy shared by hundreds of artists and teachers of performing arts. Margolis Method plays a major role in several university theatre programs and is central to the creative process of multiple theatre companies.
This season celebrates the 35th year offering professional training opportunities, and the last 12 years have seen a major effort to codify the research and develop a number of certification programs. Margolis Method has inspired a nuanced discourse that has spread internationally with a solid presence today in the USA and in Barcelona.
From both sides of the Atlantic we want to celebrate and further this work with the first international Margolis Method Conference.
